WallSmart
WallSmart is a new generation of non-woven wallpaper that is easier and faster to hang.
WallSmart is designed for easy hanging and is more flexible to hang than traditional non-woven quality wallpaper. When hanging the wallpaper, put the paste directly onto the wall and then hang the sections by butting the edges tightly together.
Use wallpaper paste for a non-woven wallpaper quality.
Before hanging the wallpaper
Please check that the batch number of all rolls is the same. The production is randomly checked. Defective goods will be exchanged with similar rolls if needed. When 3 lengths are hung up, please check the result for any irregularities. Walls colder than 18C/64F increase the risk of air bubbles and increase the time of drying. If these instructions are not fully followed, all responsibility will be disclaimed. Costs in connection with hanging new wallpaper is not accepted.
Preparation of the surface
OBS! If you have color difference of the base/wall, then the wall has to be primed before hanging the wallpaper (primarily in cases of bright wallpaper).
General instructions
The walls must be clean, dry, even and stabile. Uneven surfaces must be filled up with recommended material and/ or polished evenly. Pre-glue all surfaces that have been prepared with filler. Use recommended adhesive. Primed surfaces shall not be pre-glued.
Surfaces with wallpaper
Remove any loose parts of old wallpaper even the joints. Old wallpaper with structure must be torn down. See “General instructions”.
Painted surfaces
Wash with recommended cleaning product. Remove any loose and flaking paint. See “General instructions”.
Untreated surfaces
Concrete, rendering etc. Fill up with recommended filler. All screw and nail holes and joints must be filled up. See “General instructions”.
Further information
When needed prime with suitable primer on, for example, laminated surfaces and surfaces with big color differences. Use recommended primer and find out which primer suits your surface the best.
Application Instructions
Please be aware of the pattern repeat and direction when you hang up the next length. Mark out straight vertical lines (on every new wall) to ensure that the wallpaper will hang straight. The wallpaper is dimensionally stable and will not expand. Apply a wallpaper paste that is suitable for non-woven quality. Apply the adhesive onto the wall with a roller coater. Put on paste for about 2-3 lengths at the same time. Near ceiling, floor and edges use a brush. Pull up one length of wallpaper directly from the roll/floor, and hang it on the glued wall. Have a few extra centimeters at the ceiling and floor and make sure the wallpaper is hung straight. Smooth the wallpaper from the middle and out towards the edges of the length. Use a wallpaper brush and make sure that all air bubbles are removed. Cut away the surplus wallpaper at the floor and ceiling by using a sharp wallpaper knife (make sure knife/blade is sharp at all times). The lengths must be butt-joined, do not use overlap, except for at the corners, and overlap approximately 1 cm. Rinse away redundant paste from the wallpaper with a wet sponge. Do not rub.
Maintenance
The wallpaper is washable. Domestic grime and dust may be removed if necessary by gentle washing with a wet sponge. Do not rub, and wash with vertical movements.
